The most important part of any backup plan is that the backups are actually being performed. While most people have good intentions, they seldom backup their computers on a regular schedule. If you don't believe it, just ask your employees when was the last two times they backed up their computer and you'll see what we mean. The BackUp Solution Software does not depend on the user to initiate the backup. It can be configured to fit your needs, and ensure that backups are performed on a regular basis. Backups can be set to run automatically on a schedule, run on shutdown of the computer or run on detection of network connectivity. In addition, you're are not just limited to one method, so you can choose all three if you like.

Backup on a Schedule

The software allows you to set time intervals for each day of the week when you would like the backup to automatically run. At the scheduled backup time, the software initiates and backs up your computer, encrypts the data for transmission and sends it over the Internet to one of our mirrored data centers. As long as your computer is turned on, the backup will run and you are protected. If you leave your computer on at night or have a set schedule, such as lunchtime, this option is perfect. You can also have the computer backup in the background, even while you are working.

Backup on Shutdown

When this option is selected, the computer will initiate a backup each time you shutdown Windows. A dialog box will all allow you to bypass the backup in the event you do not want to run the backup at that time. After the backup completes, the computer will complete its shutdown process. This method is great for those that shutdown their computer each night. The backup will run and then complete the auto shutdown process and turn off your computer (based on computer configuration).

Backup on Network Detection

Using this option, the computer will automatically run the backup on detection of an Internet connection. In addition, you set the amount of time since the last backup before another one will run. So if you set the time frame at 24 hours, the computer will automatically backup if a network connection is connected and a backup has not been run for 24 hours. The time frame can be adjusted to whatever interval you would like. This method is perfect for laptops that don't always have a connection available to the Internet. It can also be used by AOL users who can not utilize the automatic dial-up connection due to AOL's proprietary connection method.
